ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Our mission is to preserve and share this rare collection of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed American System-Built Homes – his vision for efficient, affordable, and life-enhancing housing.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Burnham Block, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization. We are staffed by volunteers and rely on generous contributions, grants, revenue generated by our tour program and museum shop to restore, operate and preserve the buildings.

ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

  • 1994: Our predecessor organization, Frank Lloyd Wright Wisconsin, Inc. was founded with funding from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. The early mission was to promote Wright tourism. The organization was known for it's annual Wright and Like(tm) house tours, lectures, educational events and advocacy.
  • 2002/04 We added “Bricks & Mortar” restoration projects to our mission and purchased the first builing on the Burnham Block
  • 2017 We re-organized into two separate organizations: Wright In Wisconsin, Inc. carries on the statewide focus on Frank Lloyd Wright tourism while our organization, Frank Lloyd Wright's Burnham Block, Inc. is focused exclusively on the Burnham Block in Milwaukee, WI.
